Bronze table lamp from France with a small oval area inset in the base housing a portrait of a lady painted in oils. The painting is unsigned but is inscribed verso.
Dating from the late 1890's, this is a rare design that we've not come across before and is made to a very high standard.
Elegant arched shape with a ribbed stem supporting a laurel wreath and a pretty nouveau design surrounding the portrait. The frosted glass shade features three emerald green oval highlights and further etched detail.
Re-wired to meet current standards and around 26 cm high. The lamp fitting swivels in all directions.
