Enamelled Silver Pendant by The Goldsmiths Emporium

Item Description

An Art Nouveau silver and enamel pendant necklace in a design more often seen made by Charles Horner, with the central section enamelled in shades of light blue and green showing an attractive bobbled surface.

At each side is a pair of little six-petalled darker blue flowers and the pendant is completed with a pear-shaped enamelled drop.

Suspended on two short lengths of chain from a suspender enamelled in matching colours which connects to the necklace chain.

Showing the maker's mark of The Goldsmith's Emporium of Oxford Street, London, a company registered by Victor Luxenburg in 1909 - hence the initials VL.

A well known and documented Horner design, this pendant is also hallmarked - for 1909 - at the same Chester assay office that was mostly used by Horner.

The length from the top of the suspender to the bottom of the drop is approximately 7.5 cm.  The necklace chain is 42 cm long.
